Easy Braised Chicken Feet recipe

Craving a dim sum classic dish at home? These Easy Braised Chicken Feet are a healthier version of one of the most basic dim sums that you can see in Chinese restaurants. Savory and tender, the chicken feet are braised low and slow in an umami-rich sauce flavored with beer, garlic, ginger, and oyster sauce. This version is mostly traditional, except that no deep-frying is required. Top with green onions and serve with rice.

Making your own version of this traditional dish is surprisingly easy and budget-friendly. First, chop off the claws of the chicken feet and discard them. Rinse the chicken feet thoroughly under cold water. Then place the cleaned chicken feet in a skillet and cover them with cold water. Bring to a boil. Cook for 10 minutes, and then drain. Stir-fry the garlic and ginger in a wok until fragrant. Add the chicken feet, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar and mix to coat. Pour in the beer and bring to a boil. Simmer, covered, until the skin becomes very tender. Finally, remove the lid and reduce the sauce until thickened to a light syrup texture. Toss frequently to coat the feet as the sauce reduces. Garnish with minced green onions and serve.
