This recipe is extremely easy to make. Start with the filling. Simply combine the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl and mix until smooth. Using a rolling pin, roll out the puff pastry and cut it into six squares. Score each square to create a ½-inch border on the dough. Spoon the filling down the center of the puff pastry and top with the blueberries. Using a pastry brush, spread the egg wash onto the border edges of the pastry. Bake until golden brown and puffed. Let the pastries cool for 5 minutes before dusting with powdered sugar and serving warm. Yummy!
To make the Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish, you will need the following ingredients:
Preheat the oven to 400 ℉ and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine 4 ounces cream cheese, ⅓ cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
Whisk together 1 egg and 1 tablespoon milk in a small bowl. Set aside.
On a lightly floured surface, unfold the thawed pastry and roll it out 4 inches longer than the length to about a 9×14-inch rectangle.
Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into six squares.
Transfer the dough squares to the prepared baking sheet. Use your sharp knife to score a line about ½ inch from the edge creating a border on the dough.
Use a fork to poke the inner square and divide the cream cheese filling evenly among the 6 dough squares. Spread the cream cheese filling up to the scored border.
Press about 10 to 12 blueberries into the cream cheese filling. Brush the edges of each puff pastry with the egg wash.
Bake the pastries for about 20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
Once baked, allow the pastries to cool for 5 minutes and dust with powdered sugar
