This Classic Devil’s Food Cake with Ganache Frosting recipe is the richest, most decadent chocolate cake you will ever make! With a slight hint of coffee and a rich ganache frosting, I challenge you to find a more delicious chocolate cake. It is super simple to make too!
Start by mixing cocoa powder with instant coffee and hot water. Next mix the dry ingredients together before adding butter, oil and the vanilla extract, eggs and the coffee mixture. Beat until you have a smooth batter. Transfer the batter to two baking pans and bake in the oven. Make frosting by melting chocolate in warm cream. Frost the cake and enjoy!
To make Classic Devil’s Food Cake with Ganache Frosting, you will need the following ingredients:
Place the cream in a pan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl and pour in the simmering cream. Leave to melt into the cream for 1 minute. When the chocolate is soft enough, whisk until you have a smooth and glossy ganache.
Leave the ganache to cool for 50 minutes. Whisk at regular intervals to keep it from solidifying. Once it reaches your desired consistency, it is ready to use.
Preheat the oven to 350 °F. Lightly grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans
Mix ½ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 teaspoon of instant coffee with 1 cup of hot water in a bowl. Whisk together until fully combined.
Mix 1½ cups of flour, ¾ cup of sugar, ½ teaspoon of baking powder and ½ teaspoon of baking soda together in a large bowl.
Add 1 stick of melted butter, 1 tablespoon of oil and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 2 eggs and the coffee mixture to the bowl. Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed until smooth.
Divide the batter between each of two greased baking pans. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove the cakes from the oven and leave to cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack. Remove the cakes from the pans and leave to cool completely.
Start by spooning half a cup of frosting on one half of the cake. Spread it out and place the second cake on top. Spoon the remaining frosting on top and spread it around the top and sides of the cake.
Place in the refrigerator until the cake sets.
Serve on its own, with ice cream or with freshly whipped cream.

Too much vanilla extract I'd recommend using only 1 teaspoon instead of two.
I didn't know what it meant by soft brown sugar so I just used normal brown sugar hat's okay right?..
