These Cream Cheese Herb Biscuits are a treat for anyone who loves flaky, buttery, and cheesy pastry. They come together in minutes and are simple enough to make for a fall dinner. Great to sop up the gravy, these utterly cheesy biscuits are the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving dinner, too. Even better, they make delicious little sandwiches with leftover turkey the next day.
Start out by mixing the flour and salt together, then cut in the butter cubes and cream cheese. Add the Asiago, milk, garlic, herbs and black pepper. Bring the dough together, then fold to create layers before cutting out the biscuits with a 2 ¼-inch circular cookie cutter. Arrange the biscuits on a baking sheet and brush with the melted butter before baking in the oven until golden brown. Serve and enjoy!
To make the Cream Cheese Herb Biscuits, you will need the following ingredients:
Preheat your oven to 450 °F. Lightly spray a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray.
In a bowl, whisk together 2 cups soft wheat self-rising and ½ teaspoon salt.
Use two forks to cut in 4 tablespoons cold cubed butter and 2 ounces cream cheese.
Stir in 2 ounces grated Asiago cheese.
Make a well in the center and add ½ cup whole milk, 1 pressed clove garlic, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, and ½ teaspoon ground black pepper. Use a wooden spoon to stir just until combined.
Sprinkle your work surface with flour and pat the dough into a rectangle using well-floured hands. Fold the dough in half, and gently pat again into a rectangle. Repeat two more times until the dough is smooth and not sticky.
Press the dough to ½-inch-thickness and cut into circles with a 2 ¼-inch cookie cutter. Gather the scraps together and cut out more biscuits.
Transfer the biscuits, touching, to the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
Bake the biscuits for 12 to 15 minutes just until golden brown.
Serve alongside your favorite fall soup or stew.
