I’ve said it before, I’m not the world’s greatest baker and this Double Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe is the perfect recipe for a baking amateur, like myself. With the added bonus of producing 24 cookies, you can bet, I make these just a few times a year but each bake really gets around. Combine the wet, combine the dry, mix it all together, roll into balls, bake and enjoy – nothing could be easier!
To make Double Chocolate Chip Cookies, you will need the following ingredients:
Preheat the oven to 350 °F.
In a large mixing bowl, beat 1 cup of butter with 1½ cups of white sugar, 2 eggs and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
In a separate mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, ⅔ cup of cocoa powder, ¾ teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix to combine everything. Fold in 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips and ½ cup of chopped walnuts, if using.
On ungreased cookie baking sheets, place round, teaspoonfuls of dough making approximately 24 cookie dough balls.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes until just set.
Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before serving and enjoying!
