My Steak and Egg Hash recipe is the ultimate one pan meal, easy to make and delicious to eat! I use a good quality sirloin for this recipe, the taste of the meat really stands out so it’s worth investing a bit more to get something really juicy and succulent.
The great thing about this recipe, and other one-pan methods, is that all the flavors remain in the pan and get soaked up by the other ingredients: the beef absorbs the onion flavor, the potato soaks up the beef juices, the tomatoes are flavored with Italian seasoning. Everything works together as one delicious dish and then to top it off it all gets coated in yummy creamy egg yolk when you cut into it. Enjoy this one – it’s a cracker!
To make Steak and Egg Hash, you will need the following ingredients:
Place a large cast iron pan over a medium heat. Brush it lightly with oil.
Season the steak with salt and pepper. Add the steak and fry until cooked through, turning over half way through cooking. Transfer to a plate, leaving the fat and juices in the pan.
Add the potatoes to the pan. Season with salt and pepper and fry for 8-12 minutes, stirring every now and again, until softened.
Add the onion to the pan and fry with the potatoes for 3-5 minutes until lightly browned.
Slice the steak into strips and return to the pan. Lower the heat.
Use a spoon to make 4 dips in the steak and potato mixture. Carefully crack an egg into each dip.
Add the tomatoes to the pan, scattering evenly over the top. Cook for 2-6 minutes until the egg whites have set but the yolks are still runny.
Sprinkle salt, pepper and the Italian seasoning over the top before serving.
My one-pan Steak and Egg Hash is the perfect weeknight dinner - no sides needed, just a squeeze of your favorite sauces! If you give this recipe a try I’d love to hear how you get on - or see for myself if you tag #cookmerecipes in your photos!
