I love to make this Taco Salad in a Jar for picnics. The combination of turkey cooked with taco seasoning and the corn and black beans just says tacos to me. It’s like a deconstructed taco in salad form. Delicious!
Place turkey in a skillet with oil. Season with salt and taco seasoning. Cook until golden and cooked through. Leave to cool for a few minutes. Layer ground turkey, black beans, corn, romaine, cheese, and tomatoes into jars. Pack up your cooler and enjoy this taco salad at a picnic.
To make my version of Taco Salad in a Jar, you will need the following ingredients:
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet.
Add 1 pound of turkey to the skillet and season with salt and 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning.
Cook the ground turkey. Use the back of a wooden spoon or spatula to break large chunks of turkey and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until deeply golden and cooked through.
Set the cooked turkey to one side and let cool for 5 minutes.
Layer the cooled ground turkey at the bottom of six mason jars. Add layers of black beans, corn, romaine, cheese, and tomatoes.
Serve at your next picnic.
