For the Dough:
- ¾ cup Waterwarm
- 1 package Active dry yeast
- 1 tsp Honey
- 2 cups All-purpose flour+ more for forming

- 5 cloves Garlicminced
- ½ cup Unsalted buttermelted
- 1 tsp Salt
- ¼ cup Baconcrispy , chopped
- ½ cup Cheddar cheesegrated fine
- 1 cup Potatoesmashed
- 1 cup Marinara saucefor serving
Bacon and Mashed Potato Knots
I love serving these Bacon and Mashed Potato Knots especially at Christmas time where each serving is always delivered as a surprise treat that no one ever expects. Mini dough buns glazed with garlic butter and stuffed with mashed potatoes, crispy bacon bits and melted cheddar cheese.
Serve yours with a side portion of marinara sauce for dipping and dunking. Fun and tasty always works with my family.
To make Bacon and Mashed Potato Knots, you will need the following ingredients:
Steps to make Bacon and Mashed Potato Knots
1 | Prepare yeast | 5 |
Stir yeast in warm water and set aside for 3-5 minutes until activated and foamy. | ||

Once yeast is activativated, add honey and flour and mix well until a ball is formed. | ||

Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead a few times until smooth and not tacky. | ||
4 | Rise | 1h |
Place in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and set aside to rise until doubled in volume. | ||
5 | Preheat oven | 5 |
Preheat oven to 375 °F. | ||
6 | Cook garlic butter | 5 |
While the dough is rising, melt butter and add garlic. Simmer for about 5-10 minutes. | ||
7 | Divide dough | 3 |
Once risen, punch through dough to release excess air and divide into 2-inch pieces about ¼-inch thick. | ||
8 | Prepare rolls | 5 |
Brush dough with prepare garlic butter and top with bacon, cheese and a spoonful of mashed potatoes. Fold and bring the edges together to form a little ball with stuffing inside. Brush with remaining garlic butter around the outside of each roll. | ||
9 | Bake | 25 |
Transfer rolls to a muffin tray and bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden and cooked in the center. | ||

Honestly I really like the mashed potato in them, I took it a step further and added chopped green onion in them.
