Ingredients

For the Dough:
¾ cup Water warm
1 package Active dry yeast
1 tsp Honey
2 cups All-purpose flour + more for forming
For the knots:
5 cloves Garlic minced
½ cup Unsalted butter melted
1 tsp Salt
¼ cup Bacon crispy , chopped
½ cup Cheddar cheese grated fine
1 cup Potatoes mashed
1 cup Marinara sauce for serving

I love serving these Bacon and Mashed Potato Knots especially at Christmas time where each serving is always delivered as a surprise treat that no one ever expects. Mini dough buns glazed with garlic butter and stuffed with mashed potatoes, crispy bacon bits and melted cheddar cheese.

Serve yours with a side portion of marinara sauce for dipping and dunking. Fun and tasty always works with my family.

Steps to make Bacon and Mashed Potato Knots

Prepare yeast

Stir yeast in warm water and set aside for 3-5 minutes until activated and foamy.

Prepare dough

Once yeast is activativated, add honey and flour and mix well until a ball is formed.

Knead

Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead a few times until smooth and not tacky.

Rise

Place in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and set aside to rise until doubled in volume.

Preheat oven

Preheat oven to 375 °F.

Cook garlic butter

While the dough is rising, melt butter and add garlic. Simmer for about 5-10 minutes.

Divide dough

Once risen, punch through dough to release excess air and divide into 2-inch pieces about ¼-inch thick.

Prepare rolls

Brush dough with prepare garlic butter and top with bacon, cheese and a spoonful of mashed potatoes. Fold and bring the edges together to form a little ball with stuffing inside. Brush with remaining garlic butter around the outside of each roll.

Bake

Transfer rolls to a muffin tray and bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden and cooked in the center.

Serve

Cool slightly then serve and enjoy!
