Preheat the oven to 400 °F and grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish with butter.
Boil the potatoes in a large pot of boiling salted water for about 15 minutes until they are very tender.
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash well until there are no lumps.
Add the milk and melted butter. Stir in the mozzarella cheese and ¾ cup of the Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer the potatoes to the casserole dish.
Mix the breadcrumbs and the remaining parmesan together in a small bowl and sprinkle on top of the mashed potato.
Bake the dish for about 20 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
Serve with your Thanksgiving dinner.
