These Churro Apple Pies are cute individual apple pies with the added flavor of churros thanks to being dusted in cinnamon sugar. I always use ready made puff pastry for these apple pies with churro crust because life is often too hectic to make my own!

I start these delish churro apple pies by baking pastry circles onto an inverted muffin pan. Naturally, puff pastry puffs up when cooking! So, you might need to gently press the pastry bowls back onto the muffin pan to reshape them. Make sure you use an oven mitt! Then I combine the apple filling ingredients in a pot and cook until the apples have caramelized. I add the filling to the bowls and drizzle with caramel to serve. Yum!

To make Churro Apple Pies, you will need the following ingredients:

Ingridiens for Churro Apple Pies

Steps to make Churro Apple Pies

1

Heat oven and prepare a muffin pan

5

Preheat the oven to 400 °F and lightly grease an inverted muffin pan with cooking spray.

2

Prepare pastry bowls

3

Using a rolling pin, roll out 2 packages of puff pastry. Cut out 12 circles using a 4-inch cookie cutter. Place a circle of puff pastry on each inverted muffin holder. Press the pastry down to form bowl-shapes.

3

Bake

12

Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until golden. Remove from the oven and leave to cool.

4

Coat in cinnamon sugar

2

Once the bowls are cool enough to touch, mix them with ½ a cup of cinnamon sugar.

5

Melt butter

2

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

6

Add remaining ingredients

1

Add 4 peeled, cored and chopped apples, ½ cup of granulated sugar, the juice of ½ a lemon, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a pinch of kosher salt.

7

Cook

20

Cook the apple mixture for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples have softened and caramelized.

8

Fill pastry bowls

10

Leave to cool for about 10 minutes before filling the churro bowls with the apple pie filling.

9

Serve

1

Serve immediately drizzled with caramel. Enjoy!
