Churro Waffles

Share

These Churro Waffles were inspired by a recent trip to visit a friend who lives in Mexico. In my friend’s home town, they party all night and it is traditional to get a snack of churros for the walk home after a night of dancing. Churros are a deep fried dough snack which are dusted with sugar and dipped into hot chocolate. I wanted to recreate the experience so decided to try using my waffle maker rather than deep frying dough in oil.

Start by mixing the dry and wet waffle ingredients together to make waffle batter. Cook the waffle batter in a waffle iron until they reach your desired doneness – I love my crispy and golden. Transfer the cooked waffles to a warm oven until you are ready to serve. To serve, dust the waffles all over with cinnamon sugar and drizzle with chocolate sauce. Serve with optional whipped cream, hot fudge sauce or caramel sauce.

To make Churro Waffles, you will need the following ingredients:

Last time I made the chicken waffle bites, this time I decided to go for something sweet instead and I like the idea of this one, both looks and sounds good.
