Easy Sand Tarts

Crisp and sugary, these Sand Tarts are a lovely little baked treat I recommend you try next time you’re in the kitchen. Sunday afternoon is baking time in my house! I keep an eye out for new recipes during the week and save up the most interesting ones for the weekend. After Sunday lunch, when the kids are out and my husband is napping on the sofa, I turn on the oven and get baking! Last weekend I made sand tarts for the first time.

These Amish Cookies use an unusual frosting method. The cookies are rolled in confectioners’ sugar while they are still warm and then popped straight into a plastic bag, which creates steam and makes the sugar melt over the cookies, creating a kind of frosting. Unique and very delicious!
