For the cake layer:
3 Egg whites
3 Egg yolks
½ cup Granulated sugar
tsp Vanilla extract

1 tbsp Cornstarch
1 tsp Baking powder
1 pinch Salt
6 tbsp Strawberry jam
For the cream layer:
1 cup Heavy whipping cream well chilled
12 oz Cream Cheese softened
6 tbsp Icing sugar or more to taste
1 tsp Vanilla extract or 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
For the strawberry topping:
1 lb Strawberries fresh, hulled and sliced
1 (6 oz) package Strawberry jello
2 cups Water boiling

Steps to make Fresh Strawberry Cake

Heat the oven and prepare a pan

Preheat the oven to 360 °F. Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

Beat egg whites

Beat 3 egg whites to stiff peaks in a large mixing bowl.

Combine egg yolks and sugar

In a separate bowl, add ½ a cup of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the 3 egg yolks and beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Add dry ingredients

Mix â…” cup of flour, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 pinch of salt and slowly add to the egg yolk mixture and mix until fully combined.

Fold in egg whites

Carefully fold the egg whites into the cake batter until it looks smooth.

Transfer the cake batter to the prepared baking pan and bake for 20 minutes until light golden brown on top.

Spread 6 tablespoons of strawberry jam over cake when hot out of the oven. Leave the cake cool on a wire rack.

Make cream layer

Beat 12 ounces of cream cheese in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Pour in 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and add 6 tablespoons of icing sugar or more to taste and 1 tablespoon of vanilla sugar and beat for 3-4 minutes on high speed until the cream is light and fluffy.

Top cake with cream and chill

Carefully spread the cream layer over the top of the cooled cake. Place the cake in the refrigerator and chill for 30 minutes.

Prepare jello

Follow the package directions to prepare the jello. Leave the jello to cool a bit, but it must be still runny.

Top with strawberries

Arrange 1 pound of sliced strawberries on top of the cream layer.
