My new favorite salad might just be this Grilled Pork and Pear Salad with its perfect balance of flavors as well as fresh goodness.
Serve your plates with an array of mixed salad greens and top with pear or apple slices and slices of grilled pork loin chops, seasoned with fresh and dried sage or thyme, salt and ground pepper. Dress with a creamy, buttermilk and apple dressing with dijon mustard, green onion, sage or thyme, salt and ground black pepper. I promise, this is the best tasting salad out there!
To make Grilled Pork and Pear Salad, you will need the following ingredients:
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together buttermilk, mayonnaise dressing, apple or orange juice concentrate, mustard, green onion, and the 1 teaspoon snipped sage or ¼ teaspoon dried sage and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Preheat the broiler.
Trim fat from the pork chops and discard. Brush with oil all over. Using your fingers, rub snipped sage, dried sage, salt and pepper to coat evenly.
Place chops on an unheated rack and broil 3-4 inches from heat for 9-11 minutes, turning chops, once, halfway through, until done at 160°F and juices begin to run.
Divide salad greens onto 4 serving plates and arrange pear or apple slices and sliced pork chops over. Drizzle prepared creamy dressing and garnish with walnuts and fresh sage leaves, if you wish.
