Homemade Yogurt

You don’t need to own a yogurt maker to make this amazing Homemade Yogurt. All you need is just two ingredients and a plastic container with a lid. Simply place the milk yogurt mixture on the countertop and let it sit. This easy recipe comes together in a snap, but it cannot be rushed. Yogurt needs at least 8 hours to ferment and thicken up. For a richer and thicker texture, you can go up to 10 hours. The longer the yogurt sits, the tangier it will become.

This straightforward recipe starts with milk. Slowly heat the whole milk until small bubbles appear around the edge. Remove from heat and let cool until warm, about 110 °F. In a small bowl, whisk together 5.3 ounces of yogurt and 4 tablespoons of milk until smooth. Stir the yogurt-milk mixture into the milk container and cover with a lid. Wrap in a thick towel and keep warm. Once set, chill in the fridge for up to 6 hours, and enjoy.
