Jam-Filled Thumbprint Cookies

These Jam-Filled Thumbprint Cookies are really cute bite-size cookies. I like to add assorted jam flavors to my thumbprint cookies – usually blackberry, apricot or strawberry. I like to make these with my kids when they are off school. They love getting messy and involved in the kitchen!

To make these, I start by beating butter and sugar. Then I add egg yolk, vanilla extract, flour and salt and beat until the dough comes together in a ball. I then shape the cookie dough into balls and press my thumb into the center of each one. I start baking them in the oven and after about 10 minutes, I remove the baking sheet from the oven and add jam to each thumbprint. I bake for a few more minutes until cooked. Cool completely before enjoying with a glass of milk.

My daughter is a huge fan of these jam filled cookies, she likes them more than the pistachio cookies which are my favorite.

Yaretzy Wig

I didn't want a mixture of different jams so I went with blueberry jam only and these turned out sooo good.

Legacy Picinich

Yummy and easy to make plus extremely affordable since there isn't much ingridents.

Emi Nawrot

Lilly you have the most creative mind! These were perfection.

Skylah Galde

Loved the taste of these jam filled babies! Will be making them a lot more often from here on out.

Dayanna Baglieri

Let the dough sit in the freezer for 30 minutes if you don't want the cookies to crack like in the photo.

Maren Lepre

Brown sugar is better unless you have a huge sweet tooth because the jam already has natural sweetness and if you add white cane sugar it will be off the charts kinda sweet.

If you want to be even more creative Id recommend using food coloring to make the cookies different colors or match the jam even :)

Keila Mabary

Accidently used some salted butter instead of unsalted, thankfully no big difference.

Zayla Bendig

Extra sweet cause of the jam but mann are they good! They smell heavenly too.

Carla Romane

Bland and not tasty in my opinion but atleast my spouse liked it.

Vanilla extract is great but vanilla sugar actually gives it a hint of vanilla taste I recommend it instead of extract.

Calista Kurtic

Great cookies though I think the design could've been a lot better.

I needed to use two egg yolks instead of one because there wasn't enough liquid to mix the dough together.

Maryam Tennesen

Cherry filled them and put an almond in the middle of all of them they turned out perfect.
