Creamy and beautiful to look at, this Amy’s Marvelous Marbled Cheesecake is a bit of a showstopper! It’s a baked rather than set cheesecake (the world is divided into people who prefer baked and people who don’t!) and the texture is wonderfully smooth and creamy, especially set against the crunchiness of the cracker base.

Marbled effect baking always intimidated me as it looked so spectacular and I assumed it must be super difficult to do at home, but it really isn’t! With this method, all you need is a few swirls of a knife (see the picture) and it will come out looking like it truly deserves a spot at the center of the dinner table!

Steps to make Amy’s Marvelous Marbled Cheesecake

Heat the oven

Preheat the oven to 325°F.

Combine the graham crackers and butter

Mix the crushed graham crackers together with the butter and press into the base of a round springform pan.

Bake the cracker base

Bake the cracker base for 10 minutes.

Melt the chocolate

Add the chocolate to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until melted, giving it an occasional stir.

Mix the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla

Beat together the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until light and creamy.

Add the eggs

One by one, mix in the eggs.

Make a chocolate cream cheese mix

Take 1 cup of the cream cheese and add it to the melted chocolate, stirring to combine.

Add the cream cheese filling to the pie crust

Spread the larger portion of cream cheese mixture over the bottom of the pie crust.

Add the marble effect

Drop spoonfuls of the chocolate cream cheese mixture randomly over the filling. Use the tip of a knife to swirl the chocolate to make a marble effect.

Bake the cheesecake

Bake the cheesecake for 30-35 minutes until the center has set.

Refrigerate and serve

Remove the cheesecake from the oven and leave to cool, before chilling for at least 3 hours or overnight in the refrigerator. Then slice to serve.
