Bring your guests in from the cold and warm them up with this hot Baked Brie! It is commonly paired with toasted baguette slices and fruits but is equally appropriate with plain crackers and fruit jams. I like to serve mine with crostini and grapes. The acidity of grapes brings out the creamy, velvety texture of brie, and I’m all about it.
This delicious recipe is one of my favorite things to serve over the holidays. It is always a hit, and it couldn’t be easier to prepare. You literally just unwrap the cheese and bake or microwave it. Yes, it’s that easy! Place a wheel of brie in the center of a small, shallow ovenproof dish that is a little bit larger than the cheese. Alternatively, place it on a piece of crumpled parchment paper. It should be sized such that when the brie is baked, you can easily pick up the parchment and cheese and place it directly on a serving platter. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or just microwave for 2 minutes, and you are good to go. Drizzle honey over the brie and top with a thyme sprig. Serve with crackers and grapes if you wish, and enjoy!
To make the Baked Brie, you will need the following ingredients:
Preheat the oven to 180 °C/350 °F.
Unwrap the brie and place it in a baking dish. Use a small, shallow ovenproof dish slightly larger than the brie. Alternatively, place the cheese on a piece of crumpled parchment paper.
For an 80-ounce cheese wheel, bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes and 25 minutes for a 1-pound wheel. Alternatively, microwave on high for 2 minutes. To check, gently touch the center. The cheese should feel soft when poked.
Gently transfer the baked brie to a serving platter or board. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of honey and top with a sprig of thyme.
Serve immediately with grapes and crostini on the side for scooping.
