I tried making these Everything Bagel Dogs recently as an experiment and I couldn’t believe how delicious they were! I just have to share the recipe with you guys. I know I’ll be making these flavorful bagel dogs for my next party. A word of warning – make a double (or triple!) batch. These delicious sausage rolls don’t hang around for long!
When I choose a bagel, I always choose an everything bagel as I can’t get enough of the seasoning they use on top. Then I learned how to make my own and I’m making everything bagel everything! My everything bagel blend includes a combination of poppy seeds, toasted sesame seeds, dried onion, dried garlic and salt that marry together deliciously to make every bite a little different.
It couldn’t be easier to assemble these snacks – simply spread cream cheese on store bought push pastry strips sprinkled with everything bagel seasoning. Then wrap some hot dogs with the pastry and bake.
To make Everything Bagel Dogs, you will need the following ingredients:
Preheat the oven to 400 °F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine the poppy seeds, dried minced onion, sesame seeds, garlic powder and salt in a small bowl. Stirring well until fully blended. Set to one side.
Slice the pastry lengthwise into 1 inch strips.
Spread a layer of cream cheese along each strip.
Roll each pastry strip around a hot dog, covering it from end to end and place to one side.
Microwave the water for about 1 minute until it starts to steam. Pour it into a large bowl and add the baking soda. Stir well until fully dissolved.
Dunk each hot dog into the hot water mixture and move to the baking sheet.
Sprinkle each hot dog with the seasoning mix.
Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until the pastry has puffed up and is a light golden brown color.
Serve on a sharing plate.
These Everything Bagel Dogs are a perfect snack for super bowl Sunday! Try them out and don’t forget to come back here to leave a review.
