When I have the time, I love baking with my children. This Extreme Chocolate Cake is always the choice to make.
The preparation time is not too long or complicated, so they don’t get extra messy around the kitchen, and they love the double chocolate frosting, at the end. I let them add smarties and any other candy that they love too. Double chocolate cakes are my favorite kind of cakes!
To make Extreme Chocolate Cake, you will need the following ingredients:
Preheat the oven to 350 °F. (175 °C) lay with parchment paper and lightly grease 2 9-inch cakes pans.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder. Mixed with sugar and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, and mix for 3 minutes, with an electric mixer. Stir in the boiling water by hand.
Pour evenly into the two prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pans to cool completely.
Cream the butter until light and fluffy. Stir in the cocoa and confectioners sugar, alternating with the milk and vanilla. Beat to a spreading consistency.
Split the layers of the cooled cake horizontally, and smooth the frosting over each layer, then stack them on top of each other, a serving plate. Continue to frost the outside of the cake.
Serve as is.
