My super easy Herb and Onion Rice is a great accompaniment to a main dish but is also tasty enough to spoon into a bowl and eat as is! This herb rice recipe is a one-pot wonder, meaning you tip all the ingredients into one pan and leave it to do its thing. Flavored with beef bouillon (you can of course use vegetable bouillon if you prefer, but I love the meaty taste this adds to the rice!), onion, thyme, rosemary and marjoram, this herb rice is loaded with taste.
If you want to bulk it out a little, you can add some cooked peas and chopped carrots, and even some shredded chicken if you want to make it into a proper dinner on its own. I usually serve this herb rice alongside a grilled chicken fillet and some simple steamed green beans – a perfect weeknight dinner!
To make my version of Herb and Onion Rice, you will need the following ingredients:
Place a pan over a medium heat and add the bouillon, herbs, onion powder and water. Stir to combine.
Bring the water to a boil, then add the rice.
Lower the heat, place a lid on the pan and simmer the rice for about 15-20 minutes, until all the water has been absorbed and the rice has softened.
