Italian Apple Cake

Recipe Description

This Italian Apple Cake is simple to make yet always impresses dinner guests. The recipe doesn’t contain much sugar and allows the natural flavor and sweetness of the apples to shine. So make sure to choose the sweetest, best apples you can find.

Start by preparing the apples. Toss the chopped apples with lemon juice to prevent browning. Use either a stand mixer or handheld to cream together the softened butter and sugar. Next, mix in the eggs. Add in the flour and baking powder and mix until just combined. Transfer the cake batter to a pre-greased round baking pan and arrange the apples on top. Melt together butter and sugar and pour the mixture over the apples. Bake the cake until golden brown and the apples are caramelized. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
