In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and heat with 1 tablespoon of oil. Place 4-6 halved or quartered apples, facing cut side down, and cook, tossing occasionally, for about 5-8 minutes until golden brown all over.
Add 1-1½ pounds of Italian sausages and cook, turning a few times, for about 10-15 minutes until fully browned all over.
Pour in ¼ cup of white wine, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme. Lower the heat and simmer until sauce is thickened and reduced. Remove from heat.
