This Pork Tenderloin With Mushroom Sauce is one of my favorite family recipes not only because it is so simple to make, but it tastes absolutely delicious too! This is really versatile and it tastes fantastic served with mashed potatoes, rice or pasta! You choose!

To make this recipe, start by seasoning and inserting slivers of garlic into slits in the pork. Brown the pork in a pan on all sides before transferring to the oven to cook. To make the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan. Add onion and cook until soft before cooking the mushrooms. Season and stir in sour cream. Remove the pork from the oven and place on a cutting board. Drain any drippings from the pan into the sauce and stir well to combine. Slice the pork and serve with the sauce and your favorite side dish.

Steps to make Pork Tenderloin with Mushroom Sauce

Heat oven and prepare baking pan

Preheat the oven to 400 °F and lightly oil a baking pan.

Prepare pork

Cut some small slits in the pork loin using a small knife. Insert slivers of garlic into the slits. Season the pork to taste with salt and pepper.

Brown the pork in a large skillet over medium high heat.

Transfer pork to oven

Once browned all over, place the pork in the baking pan and transfer to the oven. Cook for 30-35 minutes at or until a meat thermometer registers 145 °F.

Make sauce

Place 1 tablespoon of butter in a saucepan and melt over medium heat. Add ½ a cup of onion and cook for about 5 minutes until soft.

Cook mushrooms

Add the mushrooms to the saucepan and cook, stirring occasionally until the mushrooms soften and the cooking liquid has evaporated.

Season and add sour cream

Season to taste with salt and pepper before removing from the heat. Stir in ¼ cup of sour cream.

Remove pork from oven

Remove the cooked pork from the oven and transfer it to a cutting board. Pour any drippings from the pan into the sauce and stir well.

Slice the pork and serve immediately with mashed potato, rice or pasta.
