I love to make a batch of this Simple Tuna Macaroni Salad for lunch when I am working from home. It is quite healthy with tuna, bell pepper and celery and it is filling too thanks to the main ingredient: macaroni! The best thing about this salad is that my kids love it too! So it is a handy one to make when we are all at home during school holidays.
This is an easy one to make too. Start by cooking the macaroni according to the package directions. Add tuna to the drained macaroni and mix in mayonnaise and onion. Leave to rest for a few minutes before adding celery and bell pepper. Season with salt and pepper and serve immediately or chill until you are ready to serve.
To make my version of Simple Tuna Macaroni Salad, you will need the following ingredients:
Cook the macaroni to al dente according to the package directions.
Drain the macaroni in a colander and rinse with cold water. Once drained, transfer the cooked pasta to a large bowl.
Add flaked tuna to the macaroni and mix in with ¾ cup of mayo and 2 tablespoons of chopped onion. Mix well to combine, and leave to rest for 5-10 minutes.
Stir in ½ a cup of chopped celery and ¼ cup of chopped bell pepper. If required, add more mayo to moisten.
Taste and season with salt and pepper as desired.
