This Vegan Cabbage Steaks with Tahini Sauce recipe now allows vegans to eat and enjoy meat-free steaks, too. Cooked in the oven with some olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper, really, these crunchy cabbages are everything! I personally use this tahini sauce with almost all my dishes as the flavors compliment each other perfectly and it’s also just totally addictive!
To make Vegan Cabbage Steaks with Tahini Sauce, you will need the following ingredients:
Preheat oven to 400 °F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Rub 1-inch cut cabbage steaks with a clove of garlic, brush with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season with salt and pepper, on both sides. Transfer seasoned steaks to a baking sheet, without overlapping.
Bake in preheated oven, turning steaks halfway through, for about 10-12 minutes per side, or until browned on both sides.
In a bowl, whisk together 4 tablespoons of tahini, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, 1 tablespoon of mustard, 6 tablespoons of coconut milk and 1 tablespoon of olive oil until smooth.
Serve baked cabbage steaks with prepared tahini sauce drizzled over, a few sprinkles of sesame seeds, fresh parsley and diced chili peppers, if you wish!
