This White Bloomer Loaf is a delicious bread loaf that is really simple to make as long as you have time to wait for the dough to rise. The longer you leave this bread to bake, the crustier it becomes on the outside. So if like me, you love a crusty loaf, make sure you leave the bread in the oven a bit longer.
To make this bloomer, start by mixing yeast with water and olive oil. After a few minutes, mix the flour, salt, and sugar together and add the yeast mixture. Knead until the dough becomes stretchy. Leave the dough to rise in a greased bowl. When the dough has doubled, knead it again to knock the air out of the dough before shaping it into a loaf. Leave to rise once more before baking. Once cool, this bread is ready to use with your favorite sandwich fillings!
To make the White Bloomer Loaf, you will need the following ingredients:
Mix 8 grams of yeast and 50 milliliters of olive oil with 300 milliliters of tepid water.
In a small bowl, mix 500 grams of flour with 8 grams of salt and 12 grams of sugar.
Stir the yeast mixture well after about 3 minutes until it looks milky. Stir into the flour mixture.
When the dough comes together, transfer to an oiled surface. When the dough is stretchy after about 10 minutes of kneading, transfer to a bowl which is greased with olive oil.
Cover the bowl with a cloth or cling film. Leave the dough to rise until it has doubled in size.
Once the dough has doubled in size, place it on a lightly floured baking pan. Knock the air out of the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place in a warm place until it rises again.
Preheat the oven to 390 °F. Score the top of the dough a few times using a sharp knife.
Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes or longer if you want it crispy.
Enjoy once it cools.
