1-Hour Pizza Dough

Share

This 1-Hour Pizza Dough is a super simple dough that takes just one hour meaning you can have pizza ready to go any night of the week! Simply mix together instant yeast, sugar, salt, flour, and olive oil. Let the dough rise for an hour, and you’re ready to go!

This recipe goes perfectly with my slow-simmered pizza sauce and if you are looking for some unusual pizza topping ideas, look no further than my Pepperoni and Sweet Pickle Pizza which might sound unusual but it is a very tasty flavor combination.

To make the 1-Hour Pizza Dough, you will need the following ingredients:

Steps to make 1-Hour Pizza Dough

1

Combine ingredients

5

Combine 3⅓ cups of flour, 1 pack dried yeast, 1½ teaspoons of salt, and 1 teaspoon of sugar in a large bowl. Once everything is mixed together, pour in 1¼ cups of warm water and stir with a wooden spoon until a rough dough forms and only a bit of dry flour remains at the bottom of the bowl.

2

Knead

5

Knead the dough in the bowl until no more dry flour remains and the dough comes together into a ball. Continue kneading for a few minutes until the dough doesn't stick to your hands and stays together in a smooth ball.

3

Leave dough to rise

45

Lightly oil the mixing bowl and return the dough to it. Cover the bowl tightly with a lid or plastic wrap. Leave for at least 45 minutes to rise by at least 50%.

4

Divide dough

2

Lightly dust a clean work surface with flour. Divide the dough into two equal pieces and shape into balls. Place the dough balls on the floured work surface and cover with a clean tea towel.

5

Leave the dough to rest

15

Leave to rest for 10-15 minutes until the balls puff up a bit. (If you're in a hurry, you can skip this extra resting time and move onto the next step)

6

Prepare a work surface

1

Lightly dust a work surface with flour.

7

Roll out dough

5

Grab one of the dough balls while leaving the other covered. Flatten the dough a little using your hand or a rolling pin. Take the dough disk and pull gently on one side. Turn and pull gently on the edges. Let the dough hang over your forearm and gently move your fist underneath from the center to the edges until you have a 12-inch round.

8

Add toppings and bake

20

Add your favorite pizza toppings to the dough and bake in a hot oven.

9

Serve

Enjoy this quick and simple pizza dough!
