Almond Cherry Spinach Smoothie is a super delicious yet healthy snack or breakfast. This smoothie is all over healthy. It offers one serving of leafy greens and two servings of fruit. It is naturally sweetened with banana and packed with spinach, which provides a host of nutrients. The star ingredient of this smoothie is frozen cherries, though. Cherries not only taste delicious but also have a lot of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. To add more creaminess and a healthy source of vegetable protein, I add almond butter. Feel free to add protein powder to increase the protein content. One scoop should suffice.
Bonus? I need less than five minutes to make this smoothie. Plus, I love that my kids prefer it for a snack. And I also love that it makes a great post-workout drink for me. Anyway, this makes not only for a great morning smoothie or mid-afternoon snack but provides some health benefits too. The recipe serves one, but it can be easily doubled, so feel free.
