Chocolate Orange Cookies
These Chocolate Orange Cookies are like a taste of my childhood Christmases. I adore the combination of chocolate and orange – it reminds me of Christmas in my childhood. In my family, we always had chocolate orange flavor treated from about mid December on. It is a tradition that I’ve brought to my own family.Â
To make a batch of these delicious cookies, start by making cookie dough infused with orange flavor from orange juice and orange zest. Once the dough comes together, add chopped chocolate and the candied orange peel. To shape the cookies, roll out the dough to slightly less than ½ inch thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut out cookies. I used a 1 ½ inch round cookie cutter. Bake in the oven. Once cooked, transfer the cookies to a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.
