This Liver Paté is my favorite appetizer to make to impress a crowd. It’s really simple, yet it doesn’t compromise on taste.
You’ll only need the following ingredients – water, liver, onions, cooking sherry, butter, salt, pepper and a little bit of mace to bring some spice. This paté tastes really good spread on crackers, or you could pile it onto fresh crusty bread as they do in France.
To make Liver Paté, you will need the following ingredients:
Add the water, livers and sliced onion to a medium saucepan. Bring to the boil and then turn the heat down low and simmer with a cover on for about 20 minutes, until the liver is cooked but still tender.
Drain the water and remove the onions. Allow the liver to cool slightly before removing any tough parts that might still be attached.
Blend the liver in a food processor until smooth.
Add the other ingredients to the food processor and pulse until a smooth paste has formed.
Place the chicken liver paté in a dish or ramekins.
Chill the paté in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.
