This Nutella Pie is a fantastic dessert recipe! It is rich, creamy and tastes delicious. It also doesn’t require any cooking time so it is a perfect summer pie too. Think of it – a crunchy Oreo base, topped with a smooth hazelnut filling and piled high on top with whipped cream.
To make this tasty pie, start by making the Oreo crust and press it evenly into a 9-inch pie pan. Combine cream cheese, Nutella, vanilla, salt, and thawed whipped topping. Pour the topping over the Oreo base and chill in the freezer until firm. Make the whipped cream topping and spread over the top of the pie. Decorate by shaving chocolate into curls on top of the cream topping.
To make the Nutella Pie, you will need the following ingredients:
Spray a 9-inch pie pan or a spring-form pan with nonstick spray.
Pulse 25 Oreo cookies in a food processor until they resemble fine crumbs. Combine with 3 tablespoons of white sugar and 4 tablespoons cooled melted butter. Press the cookie crust evenly along the bottom and about 1 inch up the sides. Place the cookie base in the freezer as you prepare the filling.
Add 8 ounces of softened cream cheese to a large mixing bowl. Using a hand-held mixer, beat until smooth and creamy with no lumps.
Add 1½ cups of Nutella to the bowl along with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Beat with the mixer for 1-3 minutes or until combined and smooth.
Add 6 ounces (not the whole 8 ounce container) of thawed whipped topping to the mixture and fold together using a spatula until all of the ingredients are incorporated and the mixture is light and smooth.
Pour the Nutella mixture into the Oreo crust. Cover and place the pie in the freezer for 1-3 hours or until firm.
Pour ½ a cup of cream into a separate bowl with 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and ⅛ teaspoon of salt in the chilled bowl of a stand mixer. Whisk on low speed to combine. Once combined, gradually increase the speed to high until medium to stiff peaks form. Do not overmix. Once the mixture is almost whipped, taste and adjust the sugar to your taste.
Using a spatula, add the stiff whipped cream to the center of the pie and smooth out over the top covering most of the pie, but leaving a 1-2-inch edge showing.
Make chocolate curls by peeling a large bar of chocolate with a vegetable peeler.
Place pie in the freezer for 10 minutes (uncovered) to chill.
Slice into eight pieces and serve.
This Nutella Pie always goes down a treat! The best thing is there’s no cooking time! Amazing. Remember to tag #cookmerecipes if you try this delicious recipe!
