Easy Plum Tart

Are you looking for an easy yet delicious recipe to showcase plums? Well, this elegant Plum Tart perfectly fits the bill! This homemade fruit-filled tart is made with a fully baked tart crust shell, plums, and crumbs. Crumbs are here to prevent the tart shell from becoming soggy. You can use bread crumbs, crumble topping, or even crushed vanilla cookies.

The recipe is simple to throw together and requires only 6 ingredients. It’s all about spreading crumbs over the bottom of the pastry shell, arranging plums, sprinkling with cinnamon sugar, and baking in the oven. It can’t go wrong. It is foolproof and utterly delicious! Since the star of this tart are plums, make sure to choose firm-ripe plums. These plums are easy to slice, and they will become tender while baking without losing their shape.

Once cooled, sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar, or glaze with heated apricot jam. Serve with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream for a perfect dessert and enjoy!

To make the Plum Tart, you will need the following ingredients:

Steps to make Easy Plum Tart

1

Heat oven

5

Preheat the oven to 375 °F.

2

Prepare plums

3

If using halved plums, cut a Âľ-inch slit through the top of each plum half, from the tip of the plum to right above where the pit should be, being careful not to cut it in half. This will help the juices to evaporate during the baking.

3

Prepare tart shell for baking

2

Place the fully baked tart shell on a baking sheet and spread 1 cup of crumbled vanilla cookies evenly over the bottom.

4

Arrange plums

3

Beginning with the rim of the tart shell, arrange the plums on top skin-side down, tightly packed, in concentric circles. Try to stand up the plums slightly.

5

Make cinnamon sugar

1

In a small bowl, mix together 3 tablespoons sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon.

6

Sprinkle cinnamon sugar

1

Sprinkle 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar over the plums.

7

Bake

45

Bake for 45 minutes or until the tips of the plums have colored, but the plums still retain their shape.

8

Cool

Remove from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.

9

Serve

Once cooled, sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar over the plums or brush the plums with the heated apricot jam to glaze. Serve and enjoy!
