Preheat oven and grease baking dish

Preheat the oven to 350 °F and grease an 11x7-inch baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter.

Combine dry ingredients

To the bowl of a food processor, add 2 cups all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon baking soda, and ¼ teaspoon salt. Pulse a few times to combine.

Add in butter

Add in ¾ cup cubed butter and pulse to combine until crumbly, with pea-sized butter chunks throughout the flour mixture.

Prepare filling

In a mixing bowl, mix together 2 cups farmer’s cheese, ¾ cup sugar, 4 eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until well combined.

Press ⅔ of the flour mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour the filling over the crust and sprinkle the remaining flour mixture evenly over the top of the farmer’s cheese filling.
