I love to make these Grilled Chicken and Apple Sandwiches for lunch when I am working from home. The flavor combination is like a deli sandwich but you can have it in the comfort of your own kitchen! You can grill these sandwiches in a panini press if you have one or on a hot skillet if you prefer!
Start by mixing chicken, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Swiss cheese, celery and apple together to make the filling. Next assemble the sandwiches by dividing the filling between six slices of bread and topping with six remaining slices. Butter the outside of the sandwich and grill until the cheese melts and the bread is toasted! Enjoy.
To make Grilled Chicken and Apple Sandwiches, you will need the following ingredients:
Mix 1 can of chicken with ½ a cup of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1½ cups of grated Swiss cheese, 2 celery stalks and 1 apple in a medium bowl.
Divide the chicken filling between six slices of the wholewheat bread. Top with the remaining six bread slices.
Spread ¼ cup of softened butter on the outsides of the sandwiches.
