Halloween Monster Burgers

These Monster Burgers are so much fun to make at Halloween with their cheese “teeth”, gherkin “tongues” and stuffed olive “eyeballs”! Your kids will adore these burgers at their Halloween party this year.

Grill the burgers according to the package instructions. Slice 1 side of each Cheddar slice in a zigzag pattern using the tip of a knife, so you have 4 sets of teeth. Grill the burger buns, cut-side up, for about a minute until lightly toasted. Assemble the burgers with mayo and lettuce, and the burger patty. Place a gherkin slice on top of the patty so it hangs down over the edge to make a tongue. Add a slice of cheese for teeth, and squeeze some ketchup over the teeth. Place the top half of the bun at an angle so that you can see the mouth. Using 8 cocktail sticks, push 2 olives onto the top bun to make the eyes. Just remember to remove the cocktail sticks before eating or you could end up with a real life horror story on your hands!

Heat a grill or a grill pan and cook the burgers according to the package directions.

2

Prepare cheese teeth

Use a knife to cut along 1 side of each slice of Cheddar in a zigzag pattern so you have 4 sets of teeth.

3

Toast buns

1

Toast the burger buns for about 1 minute or until golden.

4

Start assembling burgers

2

Spread the mayonnaise on each half of the toasted buns. Place a piece of lettuce on the bottom half and top with a cooked burger patty.

5

Make face

Place a gherkin slice on each of the patties so that the gherkin hangs over the edge to resemble a tongue. Add the cheese teeth, then squeeze some ketchup carefully over the teeth. Place the top half of each bun at a slight angle so that the mouth is visible.

6

Add olive eyes

1

Using cocktail sticks, skewer the olives on 8 cocktail sticks and push 2 into the top of each bun to make the eyes.
