Simple but super tasty, these Loose Meat on a Bun, Restaurant Style are great served up as a side at a BBQ or a weekend dinner with your mates when you’re looking for a hit of meat!
This loosemeat recipe was inspired by the kind of meat buns I would see in restaurants around America – soft floury baps stuffed with juicy cooked meat and all kinds of flavorings. Simple, but very delicious, and always able to satisfy my meat cravings!
In my version, I’ve used one of my favorite ingredients, Worcestershire sauce. This amazing condiment will give any dish a boost of high-intensity flavor, and it works really well with beef. For me, once you add some Worcestershire, you don’t need any other herbs or spices, it does all the work!
To make Loose Meat on a Bun, Restaurant Style, you will need the following ingredients:
Place a large skillet over a medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook, stirring and breaking down the lumps of beef, until the beef is browned. Tip any excess fat out of the pan.
Add the broth, Worcestershire sauce, butter, and seasoning and stir everything together.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for around 20-25 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated.
Take the skillet off the heat and leave to rest for 15 minutes.
Spoon the beef into the sliced buns to serve.
