Meaty and succulent, these Sauteed Chicken Hearts with Button Mushrooms are a delicious way to cook chicken hearts. Whenever I tried it in a restaurant I always loved the intense flavor, but I was never sure how to cook chicken hearts at home. I tried a few different chicken heart recipes, and this one hit all the right buttons (pun intended!).
You want the hearts to be the star of the show, so just a little onion and some soft mushrooms, well seasoned, really compliment them and bring out their strong flavor. If you’re a fan of offal, or even if you haven’t tried hearts before, I would recommend you give this one a go!
To make my Sauteed Chicken Hearts with Button Mushrooms, you will need the following ingredients:
Place a skillet over a medium heat and add the oil. Once hot, add the onions and cook for 4-6 minutes until softened.
Add the hearts to the pan and cook for 3 minutes, continuously stirring. Lower the heat, add a lid to the pan and leave to cook for around ten minutes, until cooked through.
Tip the mushrooms into the pan, stir into the hearts and cover again, leaving to cook for a further 5 minutes.
Adjust the salt and pepper to taste and serve.
This Sauteed Chicken Hearts with Button Mushrooms is a rich and hearty chicken hearts recipe. Give it a try and share your experience with me - in the comments or by tagging #cookmerecipes!

Fabulous!
I made these Sauteed Chicken Hearts with Mushrooms last weekend and they were exceptional. I always wanted to try cooking chicken hearts after having them at a fancy restaurant. This recipe was surprisingly simple, and the flavours were just stunning! I will defenitely make it again soon.
This recipe is superb. My wife loved it, and we enjoyed it together.
