1 lb Ground beef
1 Eggs
3 tbsp Breadcrumbs
1 oz Onion chopped
¼ tsp Ground nutmeg
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
2 tbsp Olive oil
For the Sauce:
3 tbsp Butter
2 tbsp All-purpose flour
1½ cups Beef broth
¼ cup Cream
Additional Ingredients:
9 oz Pasta cooked
3½ oz Cheese shredded

This Swedish Meatball Bake with Pasta really is a phenomenal, feel-good food dinner recipe and it’s a great family-friendly option.

These Swedish meatballs have a bit of chopped onion and nutmeg in the mixture with a buttery cream sauce, cooked pasta and topped with shredded cheese that when popped in the oven, oozes all over the meatball bake.

Steps to make Swedish Meatball Bake with Pasta

Prepare meatball mix

In a mixing bowl, add 1 pound of ground beef, 1 egg, 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs, 1 ounce of chopped onion, ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg, and a pinch of salt and pepper then mix until well combined.

Roll meatballs

Use your hands to roll the prepared mixture into medium-sized balls.

Brown meatballs

In a pan, heat some olive oil and add the meatballs. Cook until browned evenly, all over. Remove from heat and set aside on a plate.

Prepare sauce

In the same pan, return to the heat and melt 3 tablespoons of butter.

Add flour

Add 2 tablespoons of flour and stir to mix into the butter.

Add broth and cream

Pour in 1½ cups of beef broth and ¼ cup of cream and continuously whisk to ensure the sauce doesn’t get lumpy.

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 355 °F.

Prepare bake

Place cooked pasta in a casserole dish and top with the browned meatballs. Pour the prepared cream sauce over the meatballs so that they are fully and evenly covered and then sprinkle 3½ ounces of shredded cheese over the top.

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
