Kids love these Frightfully Delicious Jack-o’-Lantern Cheeseburgers at Halloween. They really look the part with the Jack-o’-lantern eyes, nose and mouth shapes cut out of cheese slices. They taste a hell of a lot better than turnips too!
Start by cutting eyes, nose, and mouth shapes out of each cheese slice to create a Jack-o’-lantern effect. Combine ground beef with ranch seasoning mix, ketchup, and pepper and use your hands to mix well. Shape the beef into 6 patties. To cook, grill, while covered, until cooked through. Place the cheese slices on the burgers and grill until the cheese is slightly melted. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
To make the Frightfully Delicious Jack-o’-Lantern Cheeseburgers you will need the following ingredients:
Heat the grill to medium-high heat (350 °F - 400 °F). Spray grill rack with nonstick cooking spray.
Cut Jack-o’-lantern eyes, nose, and mouth shapes out of each slice using a paring knife.
Combine 1.7 pounds ground beef, ranch seasoning mix, ½ a tablespoon of ketchup and ⅛ teaspoon of pepper together in a bowl. Mix well using your hands.
Shape the burgers into 6 patties using your hands.
Grill, covered with grill lid, for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until cooked to your liking.
Place the Jack-o’-lantern cheese slices on the burgers carefully and grill while covered for 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese is slightly melted. Be careful the cheese doesn’t melt too much or the face will disappear!
Serve the burgers on toasted buns with your favorite toppings.
