Cut 2-3 potatoes into large matchbox sticks. Slice ½ an onion and chop 3 spicy peppers and 1 green onion.
In a medium sized pot, layer the potatoes at the bottom, then top with onions and peppers.
Take the spam and smash it in a bag with your hand or using the back of a spoon.
Add the spam on top of the onions and peppers in the pot. Scatter in the chopped green onion.
Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 2 ½ tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of gochugaru Korean red pepper flakes, 1 tablespoon of gochujang Korean red pepper paste, ½ a tablespoon of sugar, and ½ a tablespoon of dwenjang soybean paste to the pot.
Add 2 cups of water, or just enough until all the ingredients are immersed.
Bring to a boil and simmer for at least 10 minutes.
Serve with white rice.
