This Lilac Syrup is my new favorite kitchen secret and I am so excited to share it with you! Use it in summer cocktail mixes or as a base for a cake glaze over a vanilla sponge cake.

Herbal and infused for hours, the flavors from these beautiful florets are just something special and unique. You can also dry out some of these beautiful flowers to use as garnish when using this lilac syrup in a recipe.

To make Lilac Syrup, you will need the following ingredients:

Steps to make Lilac Syrup

Boil sugar

In a saucepan over medium heat, boil 2 cups of water and stir in 2 cups of granulated sugar until completely dissolved.

Add florets

Add 4 cups of rinsed and cleaned florets and gently stir. Cover the saucepan with a lid, reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.

Steep

Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the florets to steep for about 3-8 hours.

Strain

Pour the florets through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl allowing the finer drops to drip through.

Store or serve

Pour the prepared syrup into a glass jar with a tight seal. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or serve in your favorite cocktails! Enjoy!
