Strawberry Bourbon Crisp

Celebrate the strawberry season with this flavorful Strawberry Bourbon Crisp! Sweet and juicy bourbon-infused strawberries topped with brown sugar oatmeal and almond streusel make for an easy and delicious dessert. Flavored with a hint of cinnamon, it’s addictively crisp and perfect when served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

The recipe is beyond simple and quick to make. Start with the strawberries. Toss the fresh strawberries with a little brown sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and a glug of bourbon. Next, make the streusel topping. I love adding oats and sliced or flaked almonds instead of just flour and butter. The oats and almonds add welcome texture and flavor to the crisp. Sprinkle the streusel topping over the fruit and bake until the topping is crisp and golden brown and the fruit juices are bubbling up. Serve it hot out of the oven with a scoop of ice cream, or maybe even homemade vanilla ice cream, and enjoy!
