Tandoori chicken is one of my favorite takeout dishes when I order food from my local Indian restaurant. Tandoori chicken is a mouth-watering dish which involves marinating chicken in a yogurt marinade. Traditionally cooked in a special clay oven called a tandoor, you can cook it on the grill to achieve a charred coating.
Start by marinating slashed chicken thighs with lemon juice, paprika and onion. Make a yogurt marinade by combining yogurt, garlic and ginger with spices. Marinate the chicken for a minimum of one hour before cooking on a grill. Serve with rice or flatbread and a fresh green salad.
To make the Tandoori chicken, you will need the following ingredients:
In a small bowl, combine 300 milliliters of Greek yogurt, grated ginger, 4 crushed garlic cloves, ¾ teaspoons each of garam masala and ground cumin, ½ a teaspoon of chilli powder and ¼ teaspoon of turmeric together and pour the marinade over the chicken, thoroughly mix. Cover and chill for at least one hour in the refrigerator.
Heat the grill.

Nicely done I would've never thought to make something this tasty on my own thanks for sharing the recipe with us.
What is garam masala and where can I buy it?
Goes great with some blue cheese deep or just some potatoes and sourcream on the side.
Loved this I served it with baked sweet potatoes and some parmesan cheese too.
Lemon kinda makes it too zest so I narrowed it down to half a lemon instead of two large ones.
So many chicken thighs..how many people is this recipe supposed to be for?
