I love taking dishes like Korean Beef and Rice that are inspired from my culture and combining ingredients to make them in my home here in the USA.
Made with crumbled ground beef in a sweet, garlic, soya, ginger and red pepper flakes sauce that makes me feel like I’m back at my grandmother’s house again. I enjoy with brown rice but you can use traditional jasmine rice too, if you like!
To make Korean Beef and Rice, you will need the following ingredients:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook, breaking apart 1 pound of lean beef and 3 cloves of minced garlic for about 6-8 minutes or until beef is crumbled and no longer pink.
In a small bowl, stir ¼ cup brown sugar, ¼ cup of soy sauce, 2 teaspoons of sesame oil, ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger, ¼ teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes and ¼ teaspoon of pepper together until mixed and combined.
Pour the sauce over the cooked beef and cook on low until heated through.
Serve with cooked brown rice and sprinkles of green onions for garnish.
