1 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Olive oil
4-6 small Apples scrubbed and cut in half or quartered if large
1-1½ lbs of Italian sausage
¼ cup White wine
2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp Honey
1 tsp Fresh thyme
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
approx 4-6 cups Mixed greens washed

Delicious Italian sausage and apples seared in a pan with a white wine, apple cider vinegar, honey and thyme sauce. Served with dark leafy greens for added color and depth to your dish.

Steps to make Pan Seared Sausages and Apples


Brown apples


In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and heat with 1 tablespoon of oil. Place 4-6 halved or quartered apples, facing cut side down, and cook, tossing occasionally, for about 5-8 minutes until golden brown all over.


Add sausages


Add 1-1½ pounds of Italian sausages and cook, turning a few times, for about 10-15 minutes until fully browned all over.


Add sauce


Pour in ¼ cup of white wine, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme. Lower the heat and simmer until sauce is thickened and reduced. Remove from heat.



Toss with or serve on top of a bed of leafy greens. Enjoy!
