This summer you just have to try this Watermelon Frose recipe. A chilled, frozen watermelon and rose ensemble in a sorbet-like texture that is packed with sweetness and throws in a good punch too!
Using alcoholic rose wine with fresh watermelon cubes that have both been previously frozen, just blend them together and sweeten with an extremely easy syrup recipe and your summer just got so much better!
To make Watermelon Frose, you will need the following ingredients:
Pour rose wine into ice cube trays and freeze for at least 6 hours until icy and slushy.
Chop watermelon into small cubes and freeze on a parchment paper-lined sheet pan for at least 4 hours until firm and frozen. Once the wine and watermelon cubes have frozen, they can be kept frozen in a plastic bag, for up to a month.
Over a stove top or in a microwave, heat the water and sugar, stirring continuously, until the sugar has dissolved completely.
In a blender, blend the frozen wine and frozen watermelon until smooth. (You may need to let them defrost slightly before blending). Add the syrup, tasting bit by bit. Depending on your preference will decide how much syrup to use.
Serve chilled and enjoy!
