I love a good steak for dinner and my favorite sauce is a mushroom sauce. That’s when I decided to create this Flank Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce recipe. A preheated broiler oven cooks the steak perfectly in about 10-12 minutes, depending how well-cooked you like your meat.
While the steak is cooking, you can prepare the sauce, which is also very simple and easy to make! Make sure to use a variety of mushrooms for a more flavoursome and gourmet sauce. If you’re staying in the healthy lane, then this recipe is a perfect recipe to eat as is, or you can pair it with any side dish of your choice.
To make Flank Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce, you will need the following ingredients:
Preheat the oven broiler.
On both sides, season the steak with the salt and pepper. Place the steak on the broiler pan, pre sprayed with cooking spray. Cook in the preheated broiler for 6 minutes on each side, or until desired “doneness.” Let rest for 10 minutes.
In a large pan, over a medium heat, heat the olive oil and butter. Add the onions and cook for about 3-5 minutes, until soft and translucent.
Add the mushrooms and cook until tender.
Stir in the water, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and thyme. Cook for 2 minutes.
Remove from the heat and smoothly stir in the sour cream.
Cut the steak, diagonally across the grain, into slices. Took with mushroom sauce and serve hot!
This Flank Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce, is a go-to recipe for a quick and easy, gourmet dinner idea! Pair it with a side of your choice and a special glass of red! Try it out and let us know! Snap a perfect picture and tag #cookmerecipes in your posts!
