Make this old-school Million Dollar Deviled Eggs recipe at your next dinner party and wow your family and guests. I am a huge fan of deviled eggs, and this recipe is the best I have ever tried. The key ingredient that makes this recipe so fabulous is very simple, and it’s likely you already have it in the kitchen. This key ingredient is butter, which ensures extra creamy and velvety texture – my absolute favorite.
I also like to brighten up this recipe by adding a splash of sweet gherkin pickle juice. This juice adds a sweet and tangy kick to the classic appetizer. Make sure to use pickles of high quality, and maybe even better – homemade if you have one.
To make the Million Dollar Deviled Eggs, you will need the following ingredients:
In a large saucepan, cover 12 eggs with water and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute, then cover with a lid, and remove from the heat. Let sit for 17 minutes, drain and place in an ice bath. Peel and set aside.
Slice the eggs in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and place in a medium-sized bowl.
Add in ¼ cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon softened butter, 2 teaspoons yellow mustard, 2 teaspoons sweet gherkin pickle juice, 1 teaspoon sugar, ⅛ teaspoon salt, ⅛ teaspoon pepper, and a dash of Tabasco sauce if using. Then mash well using a fork.
Use a spoon to evenly distribute the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites. Sprinkle with paprika and bacon if using. Top with a slice of sweet gherkin pickle if desired.
Serve or store refrigerated in an airtight container.
