Combine dry ingredients

In a 1-cup-capacity coffee cup, mix together 3 tablespoons unbleached all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cocoa powder, and ¼ teaspoon baking powder.

Add milk, oil, and vanilla

Stir in 3 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, and 1 drop vanilla extract until the batter has no lumps.

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon chocolate chips over the top.

Microwave on high for 45 seconds. Set aside to cool for 5 minutes to allow for the cake to finish cooking.
